PEACE

"Peace" is a dedicated piece for palestine. Olive trees are a cornerstone of Palestinian life, they are powerful cultural emblems of indigenous heritage. In 1948 Nakba, Oranges (Jaffa) evolved into a potent cultural icon of Palestinian resilience, agricultural mastery, and the loss of the homeland. The watermelon is a powerful symbol of Palestinian resistance and identity. Sliced open, the fruit features the exact colors of the Palestinian flag (red, green, white, and black). This painting is aimed to portray how it actually should be and how I expect the situation to be, a fresh morning and a calm day. A branch of orange tree is hanging bearing fruits, a freshly cut watermelon is standing still and a few olives are scattered ready to be served. That is all a Palestine would ask for, instead of rotten fruits, cut out throats and scattered bodies. I hope my message as an artist is conveyed very clearly and has a peaceful mark on viewers heart.
