AL-WAHDA

"Al wahda" simply translates into "the unity" or "the union"

These are 3 most sacred and holy places of islam - Aqsa, Kaaba & Madeena. They have a long history and depth into their meanings. I chose RED as a background to represent boldness and courage. These places asked for many sacrifices and resistance in order to just exist.

For the lighting, it's coming from different directions for all three, left side for Aqsa, Right side for Madeena & front covering for Kaaba meaning Kaaba is the centre and most sacred of all. Although I started this painting in sep-2024, I couldn't bring myself to continue the work as I was afraid of ruining my perfect sketch. And finally completed the painting in Sep-2025.
